1. Who we are
Splitwo is an expense-splitting service operated by QALI-T (qali-t.com). You can reach us at hola@splitwo.com.
2. Information we collect
Data you give us:
- Email, name and username when you sign up.
- Phone number, profile picture or emoji, preferred currency and language (all optional).
- Shared expenses: group names, descriptions, amounts, dates and splits between members.
- Receipt photos you choose to attach to an expense (premium feature).
Data we generate automatically:
- Unique user identifier (UUID) and session tokens.
- Push notification token (only if you opt in).
- Error logs and crash reports: when the app crashes we collect device type, OS, app version and technical stack trace to fix bugs.
We do not collect geographic location, phone contacts, messages, banking data or card numbers (card processing is handled directly by Stripe).
3. How we use your information
- To create and manage your account.
- To show you your groups, expenses and balances, and sync them across your devices.
- To process your premium subscription if you choose to activate it (via Stripe on web).
- To send you notifications about activity in your groups (only if enabled).
- To detect and fix application errors.
- To send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset, payment receipts).
- To respond to support requests.
We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.
4. Third parties and processors
Splitwo relies on external providers ("sub-processors") to operate the service. We share only what is necessary:
- Supabase — database, authentication and receipt photo storage. Stores your account and expense data. Policy
- OneSignal — push notification delivery. Receives your push token and UUID. Policy
- Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.) — error and crash reporting. Receives UUID, device info and stack trace when the app crashes. Logs are automatically deleted after 90 days. Policy
- Stripe — handles premium subscription payments on the web. Receives your email and a customer ID. Card data never passes through our servers. Policy
- Google — if you sign in with Google, we receive your email, name and profile picture from the authorized account. Policy
- Resend — transactional email delivery (confirmations, password reset). Policy
We do not share your information with other third parties unless required by law.
5. International transfers
Some providers store data outside your country, primarily in the United States. These providers apply legal safeguards (Standard Contractual Clauses, international transfer frameworks) to ensure adequate protection.
6. Cookies and local storage
Splitwo's web version uses localStorage and essential session cookies to keep you signed in and to save your theme and language preferences. We do not use advertising trackers or share data with ad networks.
7. Data retention
- Account and expense data: while your account is active.
- Error logs (Sentry): 90 days.
- Payment data (Stripe): 7 years due to Stripe's accounting/tax obligations.
- Support conversations: 2 years after the ticket is closed.
After you delete your account, we erase your personal data within 30 days, except what we must retain by law.
8. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data from your profile in the app.
- Delete your account and all your data at splitwo.com/eliminar-cuenta.
- Export your expenses as CSV or PDF from the app (portability).
- Revoke notification permissions at any time.
- Object to processing or request restriction.

9. Security
All communication between your device and our servers is encrypted with TLS/HTTPS. Passwords are stored as bcrypt hashes (never in plain text). Data access is restricted by Row-Level Security in the database. If we detect a breach affecting your personal data, we will notify you within 72 hours.
10. Minors
Splitwo is intended for people 13 years or older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a minor under 13 created an account, contact us at hola@splitwo.com and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy occasionally. When we do, we will publish the new version on this page with the updated date. If the changes are substantial, we will notify you by email or inside the app before they take effect.
